Welcome to Cinnabar Valley Elementary!

Established in 2001, our school has been a cornerstone of learning in the beautiful Cinnabar Valley, just south of Nanaimo. Home to 242 students in Kindergarten through Grade 7, we are proud to be known as the Valley Vipers—a community celebrated for its achievements in academics, athletics, and the arts.

At Cinnabar Valley, we are deeply committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. Through Restorative Practices and our focus on Positive Behaviour, students learn the values of respect, responsibility, and kindness. Our Valley Virtue Tickets program celebrates positive choices, with weekly and monthly recognitions that highlight the character and contributions of our learners.

Students are encouraged to grow not only in their studies but also in their personal development. By engaging with the Core Competencies—Communication, Critical and Creative Thinking, Personal Awareness and Responsibility, Positive Personal and Cultural Identity, and Social Responsibility—they build the skills and confidence to thrive as lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
